Outdoor Education

Children at our school are encouraged to be curious about, and care for, the world around them.  This is reflected in our strong focus on outdoor learning.  From P1, children are encouraged to engage with the outdoors through our play trails, water run, mud kitchen and outdoor equipment.  We strongly encourage this engagement throughout all classes, with children taking part in specific lessons related to the outdoors and our wonderful surroundings.  We are proud to be a NIFSA Forest School and make extensive use of the local forest park and beach. Our P7s are currently involved in a local community project that involves completing beach cleans at Crawfordsburn and Helen's Bay.

“We are so lucky in our school that we can use the outdoors to learn.” A P6 Child.
